Untitled Tapestry
Untitled Tapestry is digital Jacquard-woven tapestry constructed entirely from royalty free image libraries across the internet. These libraries often include pornographic photoshoots which are still free to use and distribute yet open ups various questions on ownership and value of simulation and reproduction. As with many of the other female figures that frequent his work, this figure feels both powerful and uncomfortably exploited. The notion of exploitation is disguised by the aesthetic beauty and historical context of using a tapestry.
